Aside from an early morning shower in Eastern KY, it was a dry start and will be another great one with more sunshine. Temperatures began cooler, but we'll climb into the low 80s this afternoon. Enjoy the last of the lower humidity today! The muggies will make a comeback soon...likely by tomorrow with dew points in the mid 60s again. Rain chances will also ramp up as we near the weekend. Expect scattered showers and some thunderstorms both Saturday and Sunday then continued into next week.
You may also notice the air start to look a bit dusty or hazy soon. That could be the humidity coupled with the Saharan dust plume that should make it's way up through the Deep South and into Kentucky by late weekend. This dust will make the atmosphere look a bit hazy, but could help the sunrise and sunset colors to become more vibrant. The air quality will also be poor.
