Remnants of Laura to Come to Kentucky

Impacts us this weekend

and last updated

Most of today has been dry, we have fought off a couple of stray rain showers but many of us will stay dry through the rest of this evening. Enjoy the calm weather before we see the action pick up soon. As we move into Friday we begin to see what is left over from Hurricane Laura make its way into the Bluegrass. Friday morning should be dry but the clouds will return quickly giving way to rain in the afternoon and evening. The best timing for us to see anything from Laura will be between 7 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday.

One to two inches of rain is likely across most of the state however our Southern counties and closer to Tennessee could pick up as much as 3 inches of rain by Saturday morning. Along with the rain we can expect wind gusts generally between 20 and 30 miles per hour however a couple of isolated damaging wind gusts can't be ruled out again especially in Southern Kentucky. Gusts as high as 50 miles per hour are expected for some . This will be a quick moving low pressure and it will begin to sweep everything out by Sunday.
