Thunderstorms have been developing in the hottest part of the day and a few have even been severe-warned. Some of these cells have popped up and turned severe with wind gusts possibly exceeding the 60 mph mark. Torrential rain has also been reported along with a ton of lightning. Keep an eye out for more of these storms developing and moving north toward the parkways, but likely remaining south of Lexington. Once we get closer to sunset time, these showers and storms will fade with the daytime heating leading us into a calmer night.
We've been mainly dry for the past few days, but some more thunderstorm activity will ramp up again at the onset of our new work week and continue through it. We will also stay very summer-like with high temperatures holding steady in the upper 80s/low 90s.
