Rain showers continue for some, a mist for others. Tuesday continues its dreary ways thanks to the cold front sliding in. Rain has been mostly light, and we’ve picked up between a quarter of an inch and a half of an inch for most locations. At the Blue Grass Airport, we’ve officially picked up three tenths of an inch. Temperatures remain chilly in the upper 40s and low to middle 50s.
It’s been downright nasty outside, Widespread light to moderate rain with heavy showers mixed in has been the norm today. Even when the rain backs off, the pesky mist hangs around. Roads are wet and it just looks like an “inside” kind of day. The “inside” days continue as cold air sneaks in behind the rain today. A winter chill will rejoin our forecast making for a bitter end to the week. Temperatures will drop through your Wednesday after the rain exits late this evening. Some high-elevation snow could mix down with the rain for the southeastern counties. Clouds will begin to break tonight allowing for a mostly clear Wednesday. Even with added sunshine, temperatures will still cool as we sit on the east side of high pressure which keeps a northerly wind in place for a few days. Expect a drop down into the upper 30s both Thursday and Friday with overnight and morning lows reaching the teens or 20s. We’ll rebound into the weekend as the sunshine sticks around and with the upper 40s and 50s with dry weather, you’ll have some time to get outdoors.
