It took just one day for the full effects of fall to arrive with abundant cloud coverage over cool to chilly temperatures. Most of the day has been spent in the 50s with afternoon highs running only slightly warmer. Rain showers have been situated over the southeastern mountains and have been primarily light and scattered.

The fall look and feel stays in place for the rest of the day with continued cloud coverage and temperatures only making it into the low or middle 60s for highs. We will have changes for the middle of the week thanks to a second (dry) cold front. This front will bring another blast of cool air, but also enough high pressure for us to see the sunshine for a few days. We will cloud over late week as temperatures struggle to reach 60 degrees Friday. UK’s first home game of the season should be met with fall-like temperatures, but more favorable conditions for sky coverage. An added bonus will be a lack of the wet stuff. The end of the weekend doesn’t look as promising. While temperatures look to warm, rain chances will be higher leading to scattered rain and thunderstorms from Sunday, into Monday morning.
