We sit under the clouds today, but that hasn’t stopped the heat and humidity. This afternoon, temperatures were crossing the low to middle 80s. With dew point temperatures running in the upper 60s and low 70s, it’s been feeling more like 90 degrees.
The derecho storm event that raced across the Plains and Midwest met its end as it crossed the Ohio River. We got by with a few strong wind gusts and a bit of rain early this morning. The rest of today has consisted of clouds and warm/muggy conditions. We will keep similar conditions through the week with only small to moderate chances for thunderstorms. Activity through late week will be spawned from the heat of the day and a stalling front that will hang around. This will keep abundant clouds overhead, heat and humidity in place, and a daily isolated to scattered thunderstorm chance. Expect heavy rain downpours, isolated strong wind, and abundant lightning at times.
