Between Monday and Tuesday, we picked up nearly 2 inches of snow. 1.6" fell Monday night, and an additional 0.2" fell the following day. Snow has been recorded as early as October, but even through early November it is rare. In fact, in the first 12 days of November, we’ve only picked up measurable snowfall 31 times. That's 31 days out of 1,752!

We had one of those days in the current decade. Nearly a half inch of snow fell on the 12th of November in 2013. The time before that was over 10 years later on the 6th of November when a tenth of an inch fell. The highest amount out of the last five early November measurable snows was an inch on the 10th back in 1987.

In 1968, snow fell on the 11th and 12th of November totaling 0.4” between the two days. Sound familiar?
