Nice for *Derby* Day

Sunny and warm for first Saturday in May

We’re seeing a few light and scattered rain showers early this morning with a weak wave rolling through. These wont amount to much more than a sprinkle or drizzle, but it’s the only kink in what will be a spectacular Saturday. Temperatures are on the cool side running upper 40s to low 50s for most.

The first Saturday in May will feature sunshine and the 70s. Boy, wouldn’t it be nice to be watching the races! Ah well, we will get there eventually. For your Saturday away from Churchill Downs, you’ll be greeted with eventual sunshine and warmth. A ridge of high pressure will be enough to clear some clouds and warm us up. In fact, we’ll be warming to the 70s this afternoon, which as incredible as it may seem, is pretty normal for this time of the year. Except that instead of stopping at our normal of 71 today, we will be flirting with 80 degrees this afternoon. It will look and feel glorious and should be taken advantage of. Most of Sunday will be nice as well with a mixture of sun and clouds. Rain and storms are set to arrive late day and last into the overnight hours.
