Summer seems to want to hang on for a bit. Temperatures are slowly climbing through the 80s today as summer heat is back in full swing. The end of last week was a tease of fall and now summer is back in action. Temperatures will likely run in the upper 80s or low 90s this afternoon, but the moisture in the air will make it feel closer to 100 for the afternoon high. The MaxTrack is fairly quiet with cumulus building, but not much otherwise.

The current heat ridge will continue trough tomorrow as well. Due to the sunshine, temperatures will warm quickly into the 80s tomorrow and then top out somewhere near 90 degrees for the second day in a row. Humidity will be high tomorrow as well, so expect a heat index value somewhere near 100 degrees. The middle of the work week brings a change in the precipitation aspect of the forecast. An incoming front will ramp up the chance for rain and thunderstorms from Wednesday through the beginning of the weekend. The peak of activity looks to fall around Thursday.
