Up and Down Weekend

Tracking a few light rain showers this morning as the initial cold front slides through. This front will not be a game changer in temperature, but will at least clear out the clouds through the day today. Before it clears, light scattered showers will continue for southern counties, and a few areas of mist are possible north of that. As we get into the afternoon, rain ends for all as clouds begin clearing.

We started the weekend (Friday) on a pretty mild note. Sure temperatures started near freezing, but we rounded out near 70 for the afternoon high so that’s pretty “up and down” in itself. Today will be almost the opposite. We’re starting out pretty mild in the low 50s, but will only end up somewhere near 60. So not a lot spread expected today. Then, we cool down even further with a big drop overnight tonight, and will only make it to about 50 for the afternoon high Sunday. So obviously, things are on the cooling trend as a couple of cold fronts dominate the weekend forecast. The secondary front will arrive early tomorrow morning, but it will begin cooling us down quickly as the sun drops tonight. If you’re headed out for the UK game or any night activity, don’t let the mild afternoon fool you. It WILL be cold tonight. Temperatures will plummet and on top of that we’re expecting gusty conditions, so blustery will be more like it for the last couple of quarter for the game tonight. Be prepared! Temperatures will remain fairly “normal” for the upcoming week. We get high pressure and it will sustain itself. Therefore there will not be a lot of variability in the forecast. Expect cold mornings, and mild afternoons.
