Sometimes you have to take the good with the bad, and that’s the type of forecast we get. After being about 20 degrees below average for the last 36 hours, we finally get a warm up. It will be a slow climb, but by the weekend, you’ll forget how cold we’ve been. Today, temperatures have barely made it to 30 degrees. Wind chills are dipping down into the 20s and teens. It’s a cold, “bundle-up” type of day despite the sunshine we had earlier.

Moving into Thursday, temperatures will have a chance to warm a little. A wind shift out of the south will let temperatures rise into the 40s for highs. So still expect a chilly day Thursday, but we’ll be warmer by about 15 degrees. Due to a rising warm front, showers will come back into the forecast. The warmer air aloft could result in some minor freezing drizzle through the late afternoon Thursday. After that, rain will take over and we’re looking at a pretty rainy weekend. Scattered showers will hang out with us Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Temperatures will also keep rising. We’re expecting the mid-60s by Saturday. So the weekend will feel good, but not necessarily look good.
