Tracking a beautiful day after the half and half winter storm that brought ice and snow to south and southeastern Kentucky. Now, things are quiet, but still quite cold. Despite the abundant sunshine, temperatures have only risen into the upper 30s or low 40s. The coldest spot is Pikeville where snow still sits on the ground.

As we continue through the week, temperatures will slowly recover. We will move into the 40s for everyone tomorrow and Wednesday, eventually reaching the 50s by the end of the work week. Another round of precipitation is expected, but due to warming temperatures it will fall as only rain. Showers will be minor on Thursday, but more robust into the weekend. Temperatures will cool slightly through next week.
