Looking at both rain and snow showers across Kentucky. The prominent form of precipitation is the rain, heavy in some spots. North of I-64 has a few mix or all snow showers as that is where temperatures are st or below freezing. These showers will continue and then wrap up through the day for most. A few showers with both rain and snow and even freezing rain will graze the state tonight. We’ll stay cold throughout. The WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY remains in effect for northern counties until 12:00 pm.

The rain/snow showers will begin wrapping up through the day today. They won’t completely disappear, but the coverage will shrink into this evening. We keep the cold and the clouds through today and tomorrow. A few minor snow showers may fall again Monday and into Tuesday morning for eastern counties as a slow-moving low tracks eastward. Sunshine will return to some north and west counties late Monday. Otherwise, we clear Tuesday morning and more sun will be around midweek. We’ll get a small boost in temperatures as we get into the end of the week. More sun will help, but it’s primarily due to a wind change. Rain showers will move in with a quick-hitting system Thursday and Friday. This is a precursor to the next winter storm that will pull in a lot of cold air and the chance for winter precipitation this weekend.
