Strong Thunderstorms Later Today

Posted
and last updated

The clouds have moved in ahead of the next low but we’re still getting warm with the amount of sunlight getting through. Temperatures are up five degrees from this time yesterday. Everyone has made it into at least the low 70s or upper 60s, depending on the thickness of cloud coverage. The dew point is still in the mid-50s making it mostly comfortable outside.

Showers will continue to work into the region through the course of the afternoon and thunderstorms will form later in the day and through the evening. Showers and storms will be scattered in nature and mainly through the I-75 corridor and east. Heavy rain, strong wind, and hail are possible with the stronger storms. Most of the activity today will be sub-severe, but a few storms could push the threshold. Showers will wrap up through the day Thursday as the second batch of cool air works in. Temperatures are still expected to stay below 70 through the entire day of Thursday.
