Scattered rain and thunderstorms showing up on the MaxTrack this afternoon thanks to a weak wave of low pressure moving through the Ohio River Valley. Storms are below severe limits but are still strong with heavy rain and a few strong wind gusts. Temperatures before the rain are in the low to middle 60s. Where rain has fallen, temperatures have cooled into the 70s or even the 60s.
Storms will continue to roll this afternoon and evening. Heavy rain will be scattered to isolated. A few strong wind gusts are possible along with several lightning strikes. I am not expecting much for severe weather today or tonight, however an isolated instance of a damaging wind gusts is possible. If you’re not under the rain, it is partly cloudy and warm. Humidity levels are still comfortable. As high pressure builds in behind the wave, we will get more sunshine through the middle of the week. Another storm looks to approach as we transition into the weekend. The comfortable air stays in place until next week.
