Small chance, big chance

Rain showers more likely late-week

Rain chances are back up, but we’ve still got a ways to go before rain is a sure bet for everyone. As of now, it’s just a lit of cloud coverage with only a few small breaks in between. Despite the cloud coverage, we’re running a little warmer than this time yesterday. Temperatures will top out in the upper 40s or even low 50s.

The pesky cloud coverage can be attributed to a couple of dying cold fronts over the region. Only a small amount of moisture is available and therefore, rain chances remain low. Still, a sprinkle or a drizzle is possible from time to time. Don’t expect much more than a trace amount. More sunshine will be available midweek in a precipitation break set up. Afterwards, all bets are off. Rain showers return with another couple of systems. These will be stronger and have more moisture to work with. Rain is expected Thursday night, through Friday and Saturday and wrapping up overnight into Sunday. As of now, no frozen precipitation is expected. Of course, we will be monitoring that as temperatures look to fall to just above freezing both Saturday and Sunday mornings.
