Changes have been minimal in the last 24 hours as the drier air mass remains in place. Humidity levels have remained slight and it feels comfortable to slightly sticky at best. Temperatures are running in the 80s again this afternoon and will be the last of the comfortable days before the next heat wave.

A strong ridge of high pressure continues to slide east across Texas today where triple-digit heat is breaking daily high temperature records. The high will continue to push east through the Gulf Coast States through the middle and end of this week and some of next week. What this means for us is a long stretch with hot and humid weather. Relentless heat that will take a while to break. Temperatures will rise into the low 90s starting tomorrow, and we will run between 90 degrees and 95 degrees every afternoon until at least the middle of next week. To go along with it, dew point temperatures will run in the upper 60s or low 70s each afternoon making the 90s feel closer to 100 degrees in some locations. Heat safety will be important this week. Drink plenty of water and take breaks in the shade or inside frequently. Know the signs and differences between Heat stroke and heat exhaustion and what to do if each occur. There will be days with storms, especially the end of the weekend. Heavy downpours and strong wind gusts possible at times.
