Most of the light snow that coated the ground has disappeared now that the sun has come out. Temperatures remain well below freezing in the low to mid 20s with the northerly wind. The sun is nice, but don’t expect a warm up from it.
The cold air and minor amounts of moisture let snow flurries and light snow showers fall across Kentucky. It was a nice change getting to see some of the flakes on the ground this morning, without having to deal with it on the roads. Sure, there were areas that had snow collect, especially shoulders, bridges and overpasses. Most roads were fine. As the sun came out late day, snow began to disappear but the cold remained. Cold will continue for one more day, but we will at least warm into the low 30s for afternoon highs Tuesday. The sun will be abundant after the morning hours making it cold and sunny. As high pressure slides east, winds will change out of the south allowing warmer air to work in for the middle part of the work week. We get into the upper 40s by late week as rain returns to the forecast. A brief shot of rain/snow may fall on Saturday as temperatures fall again. Temperatures will cool through the weekend.
