So far today has been a hot and humid one at high temperatures have climbed up into the mid-80s we have also had a couple of lines of heavy rain and thunderstorms moving through the area which have sparked a couple of severe thunderstorm warnings this afternoon.

Most of those have been pushing into Eastern Kentucky now and we have seen some very heavy rain, possibly even some small hail and lightning with this system.

Keep an eye on the sky for the rest of the afternoon and evening as strong winds have caused some power outages and downed trees especially in Laurel county this afternoon.

As we roll through the rest of the evening we will start to see the storms diminishing after Sunset and temperatures will get down into the mid-60s later this evening.

We will also dry out overnight and for the start of Monday. As we roll into a brand new work week it looks like Monday will also bring us some sunshine through the day then another chance for showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.

High temperatures will be in the mid-80s tomorrow the rest of the work week holds a few different shower and thunderstorm chances, high temperatures will start to dwindle just a bit for Tuesday and Wednesday only around 80 degrees and then we will see a little bit more heat kicking up toward late week and into next weekend.
