Things are shaping up to be a typical, yet nice summer Saturday. Temperatures are running in the middle 60s for most this morning, and we’re on track to push to about 87 degrees this afternoon. A few clouds will build into the afternoon as the heating gets going, but the chance for storms remains low.

A nice Saturday will be followed by a turbulent Sunday as a second cold front approaches and passes. Rain and storms will set up mostly Sunday afternoon, but an initial round will roll through in the morning hours as well. Expect heavy downpours and a few strong wind gusts with all storms on Sunday. After the front passes, temperatures cool down to below normal for a few days. We’ll stay in the low 80s Monday, before cranking up the heat and humidity. A heat ridge that’s been sitting over the southwest will eventually move east. As it does it will bring our temperatures up, back above normal levels. We’ll be sitting in the 90s for the entire end of the week. Rain chances will remain minimal or small for this time frame.
