Warm to cold

Midweek front brings a big change

and last updated

We’ve been graced with another pleasant fall day as temperatures have warmed from the middle 40s up to the 70s this afternoon. Clouds have returned on schedule ahead of the cold front slated for this evening. Rain showers have not quite made their way into Kentucky, but they will soon. Otherwise, it’s a breezy, mild, and cloudy Tuesday.

Rain showers and a few thunderstorms are expected through the overnight hours, thanks to the next cold front. Today’s cloud coverage is the precursor along with uptick in the southwesterly wind. That wind is also keeping temperatures up, before the drop tomorrow. We’re looking at a 20-25 degree drop in afternoon highs after the frontal passage, putting the highs in the low to mid-50s tomorrow. Overnight lows will dip down to frost territory for Thursday and Friday. A slow climb to the 70s will occur through the end of the week, stopping at around 75 for the beginning of next week before the next cold front arrives. Out of the two weekend days, Saturday is looking to be the best with sunshine and a mild afternoon. Rain returns Sunday.
