Things have yet to improve for most locations in Kentucky as clouds hang tough and temperatures that refuse to warm. In the early afternoon temperatures were near freezing and only spots that are seeing some clearing have temperatures getting close to the expected afternoon high of 40 degrees. No precipitation on the MaxTrack

Wednesday promises more sunshine, but we will have some cloud coverage to start. Some will be in the form of high cirrus passing overhead. Some will be in the form of morning fog which could be freezing fog. Temperatures are again expected to drop into the upper 20s for most locations. Fog that touches freezing surfaces may leave a layer of ice. Windshields and elevated surfaces are most affected by this. The rest of Wednesday promises more sunshine and with it a wind shift out of the southwest. The combination of the two will allow temperatures to rebound. Expect the low 50s Wednesday afternoon, but continued warming puts us near 60 degrees on Friday. Better chances for rain look to arrive over the weekend.
