LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington police were investigating after a woman was shot early Wednesday morning as she sat in her car on the city's south side.

Police said the woman was pulled off to the side of the road when someone in an unknown vehicle fired several rounds into her vehicle, striking the woman multiple times.

The woman was taken to an area hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, officials tell LEX 18.
