That cold, Arctic air that's been missing in action much of this winter finally barrels into the Commonwealth early next week. But before we drop into the deep freeze we have a round of active weather this weekend. A significant winter storm will hammer our neighbors to the north but we're mainly in for gusty and cold rain showers Saturday. A brief, wintry mix is possible as it cranks up late Friday over the Bluegrass and northern counties. Expect highs in the 40s Friday, 50s Saturday and possibly not making it above freezing for a few days through MLK Day!
