But Bitter Cold Clamps Down Behind it

Beyond lingering flurries our first snow of the season (generally a 1" to 2" snowfall) winds down over eastern Kentucky Tuesday morning but a bitter Arctic blast is just getting started. Even with partly sunny skies afternoon highs will struggle to hit the mid to upper 20s Tuesday and with a northwest breeze the wind chill will be brutal, in the teens and single digits.

This is bitterly cold air for this time of the year, Lexington's record coldest high Tuesday is in the upper 20s, we were in the low 30s just after midnight. But our record Wednesday morning low is in the mid teens- we'll challenge it with forecast lows down that low. Layer up & throw another log on the fire!
