Our July heat wave goes full throttle this weekend with highs soaring into the low to mid 90s- the hottest of 2019 so far.
On top of that, seriously steamy air that will drive the heat index well into the triple digits, it'll feel like it's anywhere from 100° to 110°. A heat advisory is in effect for southeastern Kentucky and an excessive heat warning is in effect for the rest of the viewing area. Stay cool, stay hydrated and don't overexert yourself outdoors this weekend.
We will see relief next week! A late weekend cold front will spark scattered showers and storms Sunday. After that, a pattern flip and a major cool down with highs falling below average for a few days.
