The heat wave that arrived this weekend will begin to ease over the next few days as a the strong high responsible starts sliding to the west. We’ve had our third consecutive day of temperatures over 94 degrees, but it will also be the last of the sequence. In case you were wondering, the last time we put multiple days of heat together like this was 2012, also a drought year. Today's high of 98 was the also the hottest since 2012.
For us tonight it's still a very warm one with lows in the low 70's with a clearing sky and whatever thundershowers that are around dying out quickly.
Tomorrow will still see sun but we'll also have more clouds and a better thunderstorm chance with a muggy high in the 90s.
As we head into the middle of the week, a slow moving cold front will continue to increase our rain and thunderstorm chances as well as cool us off. By Wednesday our highs are back down into the 80’s, but it’s still humid with much better rain chances. Thursday will have the best rain chances with highs back to the low and mid 80’s.
