1,260 new cases of COVID-19 reported in Kentucky on Thursday

FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — During his Thursday press conference, Gov. Andy Beshear announced that 1,260 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Kentucky. After the removal of duplicates, the 1,260 new cases brings the state's COVID-19 case total to 84,195. It also marks the second straight day that Kentucky has reported over 1,000 new cases of COVID-19, as 1,346 new cases were reported on Wednesday.

Thursday's positivity rate was 4.94 percent.

"This is not moving in the right direction," Gov. Beshear said. "And it is up to us to stop these increases in cases and increases in positivity. We continue to see increases in hospitalizations, it is up today to 738 Kentuckians."

Gov. Beshear also reported 20 new coronavirus-related deaths, bringing the state's coronavirus-related death total to 1,296.
