Kentucky up to 12,995 COVID-19 cases, 518 total deaths

FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — Gov. Beshear has announced that there are 12,995 COVID-19 cases and 518 coronavirus-related deaths in the state of Kentucky.

Wednesday's results include 170 new cases and six new deaths. There have been 3,444 recoveries.

Gov. Beshear began his press conference talking about the state of healthcare for Kentuckians.

He has submitted a declarative state letter to CMS to transition to a state based healthcare exchange beginning January 1.

Secretary of Kentucky's Cabinet for Health and Family Services, Eric Friedlander, also introduced Marta Miranda-Straub as the commissioner of the Department of Community Based Services.

New testing locations will be available next week in Fayette, Jefferson, Shelby and Warren counties.
