Kentucky up to 8,167 COVID-19 cases, 376 total deaths

FRANKFORT, Ky. (LEX 18) — Gov. Andy Beshear announced there are 8,167 COVID-19 cases and 376 coronavirus-related deaths in the state of Kentucky.

Wednesday's numbers include 166 new cases and 10 new deaths.

Of the 8,167 cases, there have been 2,919 recoveries.

Gov. Beshear also said there are 98 people in the ICU, a big drop in comparison to other days. There were 269 ICU patients on Tuesday.

In long term healthcare facilities, there were only 12 reported cases (six residents, six staff members) of COVID-19 with no new deaths.

Starting at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Gov. Beshear announced a $300 million award to city and county governments to help with COVID-19 relief efforts.
