WEBSTER COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Two people are dead after a car was hit by a train in Slaughters.
It happened around 5 p.m. Sunday on KY-138.
The victims were reportedly at the rail crossing, and the stop arm was down.
Officials says it looks like the driver saw a train that had stopped and assumed that was why the arm was down. The driver then decided to go around the stop arm. As this happened, a northbound train hit the car, killing two people.
The incident remains under investigation.
