Coroner: Motorcyclist dies from injuries sustained in Friday crash near Jacobson Park

The Fayette County Coroner's Office has confirmed that the motorcyclist involved in a crash Friday afternoon near Jacobson Park has died.

The coroner's office has identified the person as 41-year-old Andrew Glasscock of Georgetown.

According to the coroner's office, Glasscock died from "multiple blunt force injuries."

A Friday afternoon collision at the intersection of Athens Boonesboro and Jacobson Park has left two people with life-threatening injuries,.

According to Lexington Police, officers responded to the area just before 5 p.m. for reports of a collision between a vehicle and a motorcycle. LPD reports that both drivers suffered life-threatening injuries, and three other people were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.

According to Lexington Fire, the driver of an SUV involved in the collision was extricated using jaws.

Inbound Athens Boonesboro is expected to remain closed in Friday evening as crews continue to investigate the collision.
