LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A Lexington woman got a well-deserved special celebration ahead of her 85th birthday.

Family and friends drove by Beverly Ross's home in Lexington Sunday to wish her a happy birthday. She turns 85 on Tuesday.

Mayor Linda Gorton named October 20, 2020, "Beverly Ross Day."

The mayor's declaration cites Ross's dedication to her church, her years of volunteering with the Ronald McDonald house, and visiting the sick and elderly.

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear also paid tribute to Ross for her birthday by recognizing her with an official acclamation.

"I feel on top of the world with that," said Ross. "That's a blessing. Right there, it is a blessing."
