Company says they've taken 'appropriate action' against employee who fought Lexington protesters

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — An Uber passenger, caught on video fighting with protesters in downtown Lexington over the weekend, is facing disciplinary action from his employer.

Several protesters say the man jumped out of an Uber and pushed a protester trying to block traffic. In an interview with the Lexington Herald-Leader, Jason Ritter said he got out of the Uber because he felt threatened.

"Harbor Freight condemns this individual's actions and finds his behavior and statements offensive," said Harbor Freight spokesman Craig Hoffman. "This conduct does not represent our views at Harbor Freight, where diversity is one of our core values, and we have taken appropriate action regarding this individual."

The man could be seen with injuries to his face and received medical attention from firefighters. He left the scene with a woman in a fire truck.
