RICHMOND, Ky. (LEX 18) — One person was killed Wednesday morning after a shooting at a home in Richmond.

The area of interest is Four Mile Road at Danielle Court and Estill Avenue.

Officers say they responded to a home on Earlene Court at around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday where they found Andrea Hernandez, of Richmond, dead from an apparent gunshot wound.

"I talked to him every now and then, call him, because he'd call down here and my grandkids are there and he wanted to know if it was okay to take my grandson fishing or have him up there to help with stuff in the backyard. It’s sad and scary at the same time, something happening that close," said Scott Johnson, who lives near the home. "Until COVID hit, then we kept the kids away from each other. But they seem like nice people. Decent people."

Police are looking for 40-year-old Hector Hernandez-Diaz (aka Hector Diaz-Hernandez), of Richmond, in connection with the homicide. Police believe he left the scene in a Gray 2003 Volkswagen Passet (4-Door) with the Kentucky license plate BFD-078. Officers believe he is armed and dangerous.
