JESSAMINE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A dog is now safe and sound after falling approximately 50 feet into a small cavern in Jessamine County.

The Jessamine County Fire District responded to Hall Road on Wednesday for reports of a pup falling into the cavern, the agency reports. When crews arrived, they set up a rope system, sent a crew member into the cavern, and made contact with the dog.

The pair was then hauled out safely, and the dog was returned to its owner without injuries.
