UPDATE: Oct. 14 at 4 p.m.
Rapper Enoch Tolbert, also known as Armani White, posted a response on social media after he was arrested on I-75 for allegedly halting traffic while shooting a music video Monday.
Tolbert posted on Instagram stories, "I smiled in that picture because I refuse to let anyone paint me as a criminal. None of this should have happened and it definitely should not be news."
He added, "...and the album is still coming out on Halloween. I'm not moving it because of this. I've worked entirely too hard to let this slow me down."
Officer Hobie Daugherty with London Police spoke to LEX 18 about the arrest on Tuesday.
"Vehicles seeing him run across the interstate had to slow down so they didn't strike him or anything like that, and subsequently he was placed under arrest for those actions," he said.
Daugherty said police do not want the public stopping on the limited access highway, unless it's an emergency.
Original Story:
A rapper is now facing charges after police in Laurel County say he stopped traffic along I-75 southbound to film a music video.
According to an arrest citation, the London Police Department responded to several calls of people "standing on the interstate and running around" around 6 p.m. Sunday.
As police arrived, a subject later identified as 30-year-old Enoch Tolbert, was seen jumping on the concrete barrier in the middle of the interstate and began to dance. Tolbert, who releases music under the stage name Armani White, told police that they had pulled over to film a music video.
Tolbert is charged with second degree disorderly conduct and stopping, standing or parking on limited access highway. He was booked in the Laurel County Correctional Center, but is no longer in police custody.
Additional court records report that Tolbert "is a professional rapper," and that the jail instructed him to call and scheduled a court date.
