WINCHESTER, Ky. (LEX News) — A Winchester high school band program is raffling off a Harley-Davidson motorcycle to raise money for students.
Man O War Harley-Davidson donated a Street Bob motorcycle to the Clark County Band Boosters, who are using it to fundraise for the George Rogers Clark High School band program.
Tickets are $50 each, with sales capped at 600. Tickets go on sale to the general public Aug. 28.
Band Director AJ Cook said the money raised will support a range of needs for the program.
"If we're just talking marching band in particular, uh, it goes to helping us, uh, feed the students at shows. It helps us pay for reads, uh, instrument repairs, and, uh, just different things that help make the band function on a daily basis. Um, every penny that we get is going directly into helping our students succeed," Cook said.
Cook said the band includes students from diverse financial backgrounds, and fundraisers like this help remove financial barriers and ensure all students have the resources they need to succeed.
The winning ticket will be drawn Oct. 17. Winners do not need to be present at the drawing.
