Transylvania beats Emory & Henry, 97-71

Pioneers remain undefeated

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Transylvania won its home opener of the season by beating Emory & Henry, 97-71, in the Beck Center.

After leading by just one at the halftime break, the Pioneers would outscore the Wasps 56-31 in the 2nd half to cruise to the victory. Transy is now 3-0 on the season.

The Pioneers were led by Gabe Schmitt's 20 points, which included him dropping in 4-of-5 shots from behind the three point line. Michael Jefferson added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists while Lucas Gentry had 16, Zach Larimore had 14 and Dominique Turner finished with 10.

Transylvania returns to the Beck Center on Wednesday night at 7:30 to host Centre College.
