Mother Nature will cut us some meteorological slack for the first day of 2020 but don't expect it last long. After a partly sunny and quiet Wednesday with highs in the 40s we'll surge into the 50s later in the week but also see a significant surge of moisture streaming in from the southwest. Days of rain are inbound again, rainfall totals from late Thursday through the end of the week will range from 1" to 2" with pockets of near 3" possible across southeastern counties. It'll be chilly enough this weekend for an occasional rain/snow mix!
