LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – After talking it over with his family, Kevin Knox will be going pro.
The UK star had gone home to discuss the draft with his father.
Knox’s father spoke with LEX 18 earlier this week and told Alan Cutler he wasn’t sure what his son was going to decide.
"I didn’t find out until 15 minutes before he went to Kentucky that he was going to Kentucky. We thought he was going to Duke. We did our criteria box one more time. Kentucky had more votes."
Knox made his announcement via video on Twitter. He said being a Kentucky Wildcat was one of the best decisions he had ever made.
“After careful consideration, I have made the decision to follow my dreams of becoming an NBA player and enter the 2018 NBA draft. Thank you to my teammates, my coaches and the fans. You have made my year as a Kentucky Wildcat one of the best years of my life. God bless.," said Kevin.
John Calipari added how proud he was of Knox, " Kevin came in as one of the youngest freshmen in the country and adapted as well as any player I have ever coached. He improved in every area of his game, became an efficient scorer like some of the best players I’ve coached here and could score all types of ways, including runners, pull-ups, 3-pointers, post-ups and in pick-and-roll offense."
He has signed with an agent.
God gives us choices and we trust him to make the right one!!???? pic.twitter.com/t7RFRhljAK
