LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Times Union) – Coach Rick Pitino, after saying he wouldn’t give an interview, reached out to a Albany sportswriter.
Last week, Chris Churchill in Albany wrote a piece for the Times Union paper. Despite taking some pot shots at Pitino’s scandals, Churchill said he was excited at the rumors that Pitino might come coach at Siena College.
Pitino ended up calling Churchill to confront some of the writer’s terse humor, but he didn’t say no when asked about the head coaching job.
