LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) – The woman who selflessly donated a kidney to former Kentucky Coach Billy Gillispie just tweeted a thumbs-up, indicating the transplant had gone well.
Ericka Downey, who reached out to Gillispie earlier this year, underwent surgery Tuesday.

Downey is also the wife of a basketball coach and found Gillipsie on Twitter. When reading about his kidney ailment, she reached out. They met for the first time in late March.
