NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — The $3.5 million purse Barbasol Championship is coming this July to Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville.
Officials said Monday the golfing championship will take place July 16-22.
According to a news release, LPGA pro Brittany Lincicome accepted a sponsor exemption to compete in the 2018 Barbasol Championship, making her just the fifth female in history to compete in a PGA Tour event.
Three other golfers with Kentucky connections also received sponsor exemptions. Pro golfer Josh Tester, a Henry Clay High School graduate who played for Morehead University, will take part, as will Cooper Musselman and Chip McDaniel.
Loca pro Grover Justice will compete as the Kentucky PGA’s Section’s Player of the Year.
