The Kentucky Basketball team playing the first of four games in the Bahamas and taking on the country’s national team.  They were able to beat the Bahamas National Team 85-61.

UK started P.J. Washington, Quade Green, Immanuel Quickly, Nick Richards and Keldon Johnson. The Wildcats jumped out to a 13-0 lead thanks to some steals and fast break slams from Nick Richards and P.J. Washington. Richards had 10 quick points with some smooth half hook shots in the inside.

UK went with something close to a platoon. Keldon Johnson stayed on the court about five minutes in and he was joined by Ashton Hagans, Tyler Herro, Reid Travis and E.J. Montgomery.

Herro was feeling it from the mid range area while struggling more behind the arc.

UK would lead the Bahamas team at the half 42-35. Nick Richards leading the way with 14 while Tyler Herro had 12.

The second half Kentucky actually fell behind 44-43 and then turned it up. E.J. Montgomery had a nice finish to push UK in front 58-49.

Finally, Reid Travis kept working and shots fell for him with most of them coming off rebounds on the offensive end.

Late second half, Brad Calipari, was put on the court and it didn’t take long until he got a three pointer to fall after bouncing all over the rim.

Tyler Herro would slam the door with a steal and dunk that would remind a lot of people of the way Rex Chapman used to get up.

Kentucky beats the Bahamas National Team 85-61. Nick Richards led the way with 23 points.
