Three Kentucky women’s soccer players were named to the 2018 Southeastern Conference 2018 Preseason Watch List, it was announced by the league office on Wednesday.

Redshirt senior Tanya Samarzich, junior Gina Crosetti and redshirt sophomore Marissa Bosco were all named to the honorary preseason list representing Kentucky. The names were voted upon by the coaches in the league.

After tearing her ACL at Florida State last season, Samarzich returns for her redshirt senior season in a Wildcat uniform as one of the best strikers in the conference. She scored three goals and had one assist last season in just five games of action before her season-ending injury. The Californian was UK’s leading goal scorer in 2016.

Crosetti, also a native of the Golden State, scored one goal and had one assist last season for the Wildcats. She is one of the hardest-working midfielders in the conference with a workrate that is unmatched around the country.

Bosco, a native of Illinois, is back healthy for the first time since the end of her freshman campaign in 2016 and eager to return to the field. A lightning rod in the Kentucky attack, Bosco scored multiple crucial and skilled goals in her freshman season before suffering an offseason injury that sidelined her for the entirety of the 2017 team. Bosco was so influential that even though she never played a minute last season, she was still a captain on Ian Carry’s first team at UK in 2017.

UK opens the season on Friday night at 7:30 p.m. ET vs. SIUE live on the SEC Network+. The game is at the Bell Soccer Complex and tickets are available now through the UK Ticket Office.
