LOUISVILLE, Ky. (Courier Journal) – Charges were dropped Thursday against former UofL basketball star Chane Behanan.

Behanan had previously been charged with possessing a stolen gun and drugs, according to court records.  Behanan pleaded guilty to possession of marijuana, but that charge was dropped after he completed a marijuana education program, according to court records.

According to theCourier Journal,Behanan was accused of being a backseat passenger in a car that had “marijuana residue” and was sitting next to a stolen “AK-47-style rifle,” according to an arrest citation.

The rifle was found to be stolen from Troy, Indiana, according to a background check.

Behanan was not driving the vehicle, according to the arrest citation, but everyone in the vehicle had received similar charges.

The 25-year-old was part of the Cardinals 2013 championship team. That title was vacated in February by the NCAA over a sex scandal involving recruits. Behanan was suspended from the team due to marijuana use.
