Lexington, Ky (LEX 18) — The 4th ranked Kentucky men’s soccer team took down 2nd ranked Indiana 3-0 Wednesday night in front of 3,000-plus fans at the Bell Soccer Complex.

Junior JJ Williams scored two goals on the night (3′, 88′) and added an assist.

Jason Reyes added the other Wildcats goal (85′) as Kentucky improves to 9-0-1 on the season.

Heading into Wednesday night, Kentucky had an 0-8-2 all-time record at home against the Hoosiers. This was also their first victory over IU since 1995.

“It felt great,” said Williams. “This is one of those ones we saw on the schedule from the beginning of the season. We saw it and knew Indiana was going to be high that year, they are year in and year out and we got to do it if we’re going to talk about it, that’s been the philosophy here. We talked about coming out and getting a result like this and that’s what we did.”

“I’m incredibly proud of the guys,” said UK soccer coach Johan Cedergren. “It’s a team that I’ve been getting a lot of texts and emails about heading into this game, with a record of 0-8-2 against IU all-time at home but I think for our guys, we were 0-0. They were really excited, they were good in practice and we knew we had a really good chance to beat them.”

Kentucky will now go on the road to face C-USA foe Florida International Sunday at 7pm.
