LEXINGTON, Ky. — Vino Rosso has arrived at Spendthrift Farm in Lexington to retire and stand his first season in 2020 for $30,000 S&N. The plan is to unveil the multiple Grade 1 winner by Curlin to the public on Friday, November 8 from 1:00-3:00pm.

Vino Rosso just won the Breeders' Cup Classic (G1) last Saturday and also has more to his resume as he captured the Gold Cup at Santa Anita (G1) and was taken down after finishing first in the Jockey Club Gold Cup (G1) at Belmont. Vino Rosso earned $4.8 million on the track.

Vino Rosso isn't the only one being retired. Mitole, the fast winner of the Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1), will stand for $25,000 S&N. Likewise, Coal Front, the 5-time graded winner of more than $1.8 million, has been retired to Spendthrift and will participate in the farm’s “Share The Upside” program.

“We have long believed this is the strongest group of new stallions Spendthrift has seen in decades, and the Breeders’ Cup results have just reaffirmed that,” said Ned Toffey, Spendthrift general manager.
