LEXINGTON, Ky. — John Calipari has signed a six player class in the fall signing period for the Class of 2020.
Joining Kentucky next year are guards Devin Askew, Terrence Clarke, B.J. Boston and Cam'Ron Fletcher along with forwards, Isaiah Jackson and Lance Ware. There are four players that are five stars and the other two are four stars.
According to the major services, this will be the first No. 1 recruiting class for the Wildcats since 2017 and that year it was not a concensus No. 1. According to the UK press release, Coach Calipari is excited about the players he was able to land. “I’m really excited about this group of young men,” Calipari said. “They recruited us as much as we recruited them. They wanted this culture. They wanted to be with other good players. They didn’t need crazy promises. They wanted this. In the past, when we’ve had groups like that, it’s led to success both individually and as a team."
This team will have a lot of size. Askew is a 6'3", 5 star guard out of California, Clarke is 6'7", 5 star guard from Boston, MA, Fletcher is a 6'6", 4 star guard from St. Louis, Boston is a 6'7", 5 star guard out of California, Jackson is a 6'9", 5 star forward out of Michigan and Ware is a 6'9", 4 star forward out of New Jersey.
Kentucky can only comment on the players it's signed but there is a chance they could add to this class. It's no secret Coach Cal would like to add the No. 2 player in the class, Cade Cunningham. He's a 6'6" guard out of Texas. The Cats are also on the final list for Cliff Omoruyi, a 6'11" center out of New Jersey.
